The New Orleans Pelicans are making a significant move in the NBA trade market, sending forward Brandon Ingram to the Toronto Raptors . According to ESPN, the deal will see the Raptors transfer Bruce Brown Jr. , Kelly Olynyk , a first-round pick, and a second-round pick to the Pelicans. The first-round pick included in the package is the Pacers' top-four protected pick in 2026, as reported by TSN.
\Ingram, who achieved All-Star status in the NBA once, is in the final year of a five-year, $158 million contract. His upcoming free agency had posed a challenge for the Pelicans in securing a trade partner, despite their efforts to find one since last summer. His injury history hasn't been beneficial either. This season, Ingram has been restricted to 18 games due to an ankle injury. In the games he has played, he has averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game, while shooting 46.5/37.4/85.5. Throughout his career, Ingram has averaged 19.5 points per game. \The 27-year-old Ingram spent the last five-plus seasons in New Orleans after being acquired in a major trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers. With the Lakers, Ingram played the first three seasons of his NBA career. Brown, who won a championship with the Denver Nuggets in 2023, is heading to his sixth team in his seven seasons in the NBA. He is recognized for his defensive abilities and his ability to provide a spark off the bench. Olynyk, a native of Toronto, has also traveled around the league. The Pelicans will be his seventh team since he began his career as a first-round pick of the Boston Celtics in 2013. The Pelicans are currently in last place in the Western Conference with a record of 12-39. The Raptors are in 13th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 16-35
