That said, there’s definitely such a thing as too much lube, and I’d probably put what you’re describing in that category., i.e. the opening of the vagina and the outer labia. It can also be applied to a condom, penis, anus, or even nipples. I would not, however, squirt a bunch of it all the way up the vaginal canal. Doing this likely isn’t dangerous—most lubes are specifically formulated for that part of the body, and if it’s used during penetration, a little lube is bound to get way up there.
It’s more that excess lube inside the vagina is unnecessary, and besides that, may counteract any potential pleasure. Afriction for rubbing or intercourse is desirable, so too much lube could dull sensation. Drowning your vagina in lube is also messy and a waste of money. I’m also wondering if excess dryness is behind your question. Does your vaginal opening feel so dry that a bit of lube applied externally just isn’t cutting it? If yes, this may be a question for your gyno, who could identify other underlying issues. Bottom line: No vagina should need a lot of lube poured directly inside it!
