A car in an Aldi parking lot just before 11 a.m. at 7905 Golf Road in Morton Grove lost control and hit the pedestrian and three parked cars, police said. Fire officials on the scene said the pedestrian was stuck under the car and had to be removed at Washington Commons, a Morton Grove strip mall. Police said the man did not appear to have suffered any major injuries.
"We had to lift the car slightly to get him slid out from underneath the vehicle, and then we initiated our medical care," Morton Grove Fire Chief Will Paces said. "I was using the phone. And all of a sudden, you know, something hit, and my head basically hit the roof of my car. And when I came out that guy was under my car," witness Mian Hafeed said. Muhammad Moten was working inside a vape shop when he says he heard what sounded like an explosion.
He ran out to see if he could help.
"I saw the old man is underneath of the car. We tried to talk to him. There was a lady who tried to help him. And ask him questions.
