AURORA, Colo. — Police in Aurora are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian and led to the arrest of a suspected drunk driver Sunday morning.It happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of S. Parker Road and S. Peoria Street, near RTD’s Nine Mile Station.Police said a 24-year-old male driver of an Infiniti SUV was speeding southbound on S. Parker Road when he lost control, crashed into another vehicle, and struck and killed a man walking in the area.
Police said the Infinity also downed a light pole and two trees before coming to a rest in the intersection.The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity has not been released. The occupants in both vehicles were uninjured.The 24-year-old Infiniti driver, identified as Jose Perez, was arrested on charges of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and reckless driving, according to the Aurora Police Department.Police closed southbound S.
