A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night after being struck by an eastbound Amtrak train in Puyallup, police said. Officers responded to reports of a train-versus-pedestrian collision on railroad tracks between North Meridian and Third Street Southeast. Initial witness statements indicate a single person walked onto the tracks and was struck by the train, according to the Puyallup Police Department.The area was closed to traffic for several hours as investigators and the department’s Major Collision Response Team examined the scene.
