Prominent Yes campaigner Noel Pearson has told the Garma Festival in Northeast Arnhem Land it will be the 'white fellas, who will see if we seize this opportunity' to create the Voice to Parliament.

Mr Pearson, one of the architects of the Voice, said its fate would be decided by the 97 per cent of Australians who are not Indigenous. “It’s your 97 per cent, the white fellas, who will see if we seize this opportunity." Mr Pearson said the referendum was not a contest between Labor and Liberal or between Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton.

And he implored Australians to support the voice, so I could help address issues like rheumatic heart disease, which is still killing Aboriginal people. “We desperately need a country that sees them as part of that future."
