The Pearland Independent School District is warning parents after students were caught with Paqui One Chip Challenge chips at school. They say the chips could be health hazardous.

The individually packaged tortilla chip is seasoned with Carolina Reaper and Scorpion Peppers. Both peppers are in the top two tiers of the Scoville Scale at 750,000-1,500,000+ heat units. In comparison, a jalapeno pepper sits in the 2,500 to 10,000 tier.

"The level of spice in these foods can be very dangerous to those with allergies or who have sensitive medical conditions. Please do not allow your student to bring these to school and encourage them not to take part in this potentially dangerous challenge," the email read. The challenge, as advertised by Paqui, is to record yourself eating one, seeing how long you can last, then post the video on social media.
