Britta DeVore has a zest for all things horror, housewives, 'Buffy,' true crime and Tilly.
Universal Pictures and Seth MacFarlane found box office magic more than a decade ago when, in 2012, they joined forces to release the raunchy comedy flick, Ted. Starring Mark Wahlberg, the movie centered around a man named John and his walking, talking teddy bear, who came to life after John wished it so when he was a kid.
One sequel and hand over fist in ticket sales later, John and Ted returned to screens everywhere courtesy of a Peacock series that took the films’ names as its own. Now, after a two-year wait, Ted is on the verge of returning for its sophomore season, which is slated to hit the streamer on March 5. Today, as part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview event, we’ve got a sneak peek at just one of the laugh-out-loud moments that will come when the big-mouthed bear and his best friend are back together again. Aside from MacFarlane returning to voice the titular stuffed companion, the cast for Ted is completely different from the movies that paved its way. That’s because the story travels back in time to when John is a teenager making his way through high school with Ted by his side. In addition to MacFarlane and Burkholder, the cast behind the series also includes Alanna Ubach , Scott Grimes , Giorgia Whigham , Marissa Shankar , Julius Sharpe , Ara Hollyday and Penny Johnson Jerald . In our exclusive first look at Ted’s second season, the Bennett family is sitting down to celebrate Blaire’s birthday. Much to her dismay, she’s not the only one they’re singing to, as her uncle, Matty , has made sure to write Ronald Reagan’s name on the cake as well. Standing by his decision and commitment to his favorite president, Matty doubles down on not only adding Reagan’s name to the cake but also leaving an empty seat for him at the table. Things get awkward fast after Ted brings up the possibility that the ghost he and John have been communicating with through a Ouija board is sitting in the seat reserved for the president. What Else Has Seth MacFarlane Been Up To? It’s hard to keep track of someone as busy as MacFarlane, as the multi-hyphenate creative seems to always have his name attached to something new. Right now, his beloved adult animated series, Family Guy, is chugging along through its 24th season, while his other long-running project, American Dad!, recently returned for Season 22. Additionally, MacFarlane served as an executive producer behind Peacock’s new Keke Palmer-led comedy drama, The ‘Burbs, which is now streaming in its entirety.
