Meet John Cena's new DCEU squad in the latest teaser for Peacemaker, which puts the spotlight on characters like Emilia Harcourt and Leota Adebayo.
A new teaser for HBO Max's Peacemaker gives a full roll call for John Cena's newest DCEU team. Fresh off his first onscreen appearance in last summer's The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker is now set to lead his own spin-off. The profane and bloody Peacemaker will premiere on HBO Max next week and pick up after The Suicide Squad, which nearly killed off Cena's character.
Peacemaker therefore finds its titular character joining up with a new kind of squad for another mission. His new team members include the aforementioned Suicide Squad holdovers, team leader Clemson Murn , superhero Vigilante , and newcomer Leota Adebayo . Also in the mix is Peacemaker's father Auggie Smith , who series creator James Gunn warns is not a nice guy in the slightest.
The last time Peacemaker was part of a team, it didn't exactly go well. The group at the center of The Suicide Squad was far from the perfect picture of good teamwork, but Peacemaker was by far one of the most difficult members. The whole reason he nearly died was because he betrayed those like Rick Flag and Ratcatcher II . It isn't yet clear how Chris will respond to his new team on Peacemaker, but the early looks have suggested they're a better fit for him.
The Peacemaker cast is a mix of comics characters and original creations, so it will be interesting to see how they all mix. Fans already have an idea of what to expect from Chris, Harcourt, and Economos, but the rest of the group should provide some fun surprises. The above Peacemaker trailer does a good job hyping up each character. With just over a week before the show premieres, fans won't have to wait much longer to see this colorful crew in action.
