DAVAO CITY – The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan denounced on Friday, Feb. 7, the impeachment complait filed against Vice President Sara Z. Duterte by the House of Representatives.

The erstwhile administration party called it a"sham and a railroaded process driven by political motives.”

“Vice President Duterte, who received 32.2 million votes in the 2022 elections, is the most-voted candidate in Philippine history. The impeachment is a blatant display of dirty politics, an affront to the sovereign will of the Filipino people, and a reckless abuse of power,” the PDP-Laban said. The current administration has weighed in on the issue, with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urging lawmakers to drop the impeachment complaint and focus on addressing the country’s challenges.

The PDP-Laban called on Filipino voters to be mindful of their choices in the May elections, particularly incoming senators who would determine the fate of the Vice President.
