President Ferdinand Marcos Jr personally led the distribution of various government aid and interventions to farmers and fisherfolks in Bicol Region yesterday, June 7, 2024.
Approximately five thousand farmers, fisherfolks and their families received ten thousand pesos financial assistance at the ceremonial turnover with the governors of each said provinces held at the Albay Astrodome. These include ten units of 18-footer fiber fishing boats with complete accessories anf 7.5HP gasoline engine amounting to Php60,000 per set and 20 units bottom set gill nets at Php12 thousanf per set.Hybrid rice and corn seeds, fertilizers anf pumping sets were distributed to farmers.Farmers and fisherfolks in these provinces who declared bankruptcy due to El Niño have received cash assistance.
DA Bicol Regional Executive Director Rodel Tornilla said that interventions from other DA attached agencies include: from Philrice 82,592 bags certified rice seeds; from PhilMech 3 4WD worth P6.8 M; from Sugar Regulatory Administration 2 Rapid Nursery Propagation Project worth P170,000; from Agricultural Credit Policy Council AgriNegosyo loan worth P10M; from BFAR bottom set gil nets and 10 units 18 footer boats, bangus fingerlings worth P1.38M; and from Phil. Crops Insurance Corp. P6.
In his speech, PBBM announced that more than 30 thousand CLOAs and Electronic Titles have already been distributed to beneficiaries from January to May this year.
