Scotty Hopson buried the game-winning four-point shot to help Converge complete an upset comeback victory against TNT, 96-95, in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup on Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Hopson knocked down a bucket from way downtown against the defense of Glenn Khobuntin, sending the FiberXers to a 96-95 lead with 3.6 seconds left after being down by as much as 16 against the Tropang Giga.
Hopson, who once erupted for 46 points during their 127-95 beating of Converge last week, finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists in the come-from-behind escape. Converge also had veteran Alex Cabagnot to thank for the victory with the decorated guard completing a three-point play off a foul from Jayson Castro, giving the FiberXers a 92-91 cushion. Hollis-Jefferson, though, would sink four straight freebies of his own to give his side a three-point advantage with 9.
