Romanian giants FCSB – formerly known as Steaua Bucharest – have reportedly made Mamelodi Sundowns striker Pavol Šafranko their primary target ahead of the 2022/23 season.claim that FCSB owner Gigi Becali has promised new head coach Nicolae Dică that reinforcements will be signed and that the Slovakian striker is near the top of the club’s list of targets.
Šafranko previously spent two seasons in Romania with Sepsi OSK, where he recorded 17 goals and 19 assists in 73 matches, before joining Sundowns last year in a mega-money deal worth a reported R12 million. The 27-year-old joined Sundowns on a five-year deal and scored nine times in 28 games for Masandawana last season but could now be set to make a premature exit if FSCB formalise their interest with a bid.
Per the report, the Romanian side is hopeful of landing his signature due to the number of foreign players on Downs’ books and the belief that he is dissatisfied being in the shadow of Golden Boot winner, Peter Shalulile.
