Toyota在今年2月一口气向本地市场发表了数款挂上GR铭牌、以性能为取向的车款，当中就包括了搭载运动化套件的Corolla Cross GR Sport，这款跨界SUV在本地的价格与油电版的Corolla Cross 1.8 Hybrid一样，都是RM142,800，不过它搭载的是纯内燃式的汽油引擎。
这款Corolla Cross GR Sport在外观上和普通版本的Corolla Cross有着明显差异，首先它采用了重新设计的前保险杆，而且前雾灯位置也有明显改变，而且车头的水箱护罩也采用了更多的黑色元素来强调运动感，取消了原本的灰色镀铬饰条。 在车尾的部份，原厂也为它贴上GR Sport的铭牌来明确标签它的身份，并且换上熏黑处理的后尾灯组。而内装部分的引擎启动按钮也有GR的字眼，同时座椅的头枕也纹上了GR的标志，而且也增加了拥有GR标志的黑色地毯。 据原厂提供的规格表，本地的Corolla Cross GR Sport采用了运动化调校的行车电脑（ECU）软体，让它的方向盘拥有更好的回馈感觉，而且也在前后悬吊的弹簧和防倾杆上做了小幅度修改，并增加了可提升车体钢性和减少车身侧倾的车体拉杆。
