Paul Scholes has highlighted his 'concern' over Matthijs de Ligt as Manchester United close in on striking a deal.
now heading out it appears as if the Red Devils are closing in on a double swoop for two of Bayern Munich's stars.Scholes however isn't keen on the former, believing the defender's past history should be ringing early alarm bells.
"He’s obviously not been good enough at Bayern Munich, so he’s coming to us as like a second-rate defender now."Ten Hag of course has history with De Ligt, with the Dutch pair having worked well together at Ajax. It is clear the United boss still rates the Netherlands international extremely highly, even speaking so boldly regarding the defender when he was just a teenager."I do not know if Matthijs de Ligt has shown 60 to 80 per cent of his potential," Ten Hag said back in 2019.
