Leeds United saw a host of first-team stars leave Elland Road in the summer following relegation and Paul Robinson has addressed fears more could move on in January
Leeds United's stars will not want to leave in the January transfer window if the team remain in the hunt for a swift return to the Premier League. That is the view of former Whites goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who believes 'things are going really well' under Daniel Farke at Elland Road.
Leeds have improved following a steady but slow start to the season, and now sit fifth in the table ahead of a clash at Norwich City on Saturday. Farke's team have won of their last four league matches, but still trail Ipswich Town in second spot by nine points. Relegation saw a host of first-team stars depart Elland Road over the summer, many on loan due to contractual clauses, with the likes of Wilfried Gnonto also the subject of interest from elsewhere. Rivals could return in January to test United's resolve, but Robinson is confident players will be keen to stay if the team remain in contention for promotion. He told MOT Leeds News: “No, not really because they’re part of a good thing at the moment.
“The way that Leeds are playing, the results they’re getting and if they’re sitting fifth in the league come January, or if they’re there or thereabouts, players are going to want to be part of a squad that achieves something and hopefully that can be with Leeds this season. The manager seems to have things right and he seems to be man managing the squad.
"He’s getting players back from injury. So with the squad that they’ve got, you would think that they’d be challenging and players who want to be a part of that.”
