The husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was spotted at the Kennedy Center Honors Sunday night in his first public appearance since he was assaulted by a home invader.

Paul Pelosi was wearing a hat and one glove at the awards ceremony, possibly to conceal injuries he sustained from the assault.following the violent October assault and still faces a “long haul” to a full recovery, Nancy Pelosi, also 82, said last month. Doctors had to remove his skull, reshape it and fuse it back together following the violent attack in which a maniac broke into the Pelosi’s San Francisco home and bashed his head in with a hammer on Oct. 28.Last week, Nancy Pelosi, whoin the House, said her husband was “coming along,” but needs more time to fully recover.
“It’s going to take a while,” she said during her weekly press conference Thursday. “It’s going to take a while. Head injuries are — they have an impact beyond surgery. It’s a big thing.”
