Tottenham Hotspur's former head of recruitment Paul Mitchell is believed to be on Sir Jim Ratcliffe's shortlist to become Man United's sporting director
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is on the verge of purchasing a 25 per cent stake in Manchester United but the jury is still out on the British billionaire.

One of the first appointments Ratcliffe is believed to be wanting to make is a sporting director. "We are a long time from the Sir Alex Ferguson era. Erik ten Hag is a top coach from Ajax but they need a top blueprint not only for now but for the next five years, and work towards that, and sometimes on that journey there are hard moments when you don't get the right results, even though you're doing the right things.
