Patti LuPone Is Ready for Her Final Bow in ‘Elsbeth’ Season 3 Finale Sneak Peek [Exclusive]
United States Latest News,United States Headlines

A new sneak peek at Elsbeth's Season 3 finale welcomes MCU favorite Patti LuPone to emotionally serenade Carrie Preston with a classic tune.

And now, the end is near, and so Elsbeth Season 3 faces its final curtain. Fortunately, it's primed to be a show-stopping finale. After an eventful run full of tyrannical talk show hosts, killer cruciverbalists, and a murderous former model, among other colorful crooks, Carrie Preston is about to enter the glamorous world of cabaret to solve the mystery of a minor royal's death.

Welcomed into the most prestigious hotel in all of New York, Elsbeth will brush with faded elegance and rub elbows with old elites, including a legendary cabaret performer who not only calls the storied building her home but fills its halls with her voice. Collider can exclusively share a new, musical sneak peek at the upcoming finale, centering the singer in question, played by Broadway performer Patti LuPone, who has an emotional tune to share.

Where past sneak peeks have shown Elsbeth's humorous interactions with her suspects or demonstrated her skills of deduction, this video is a more low-key, emotional preview, letting LuPone serenade the absolutely beaming sleuth as the legendary Ruby Lane. The song she chooses is the classic"What'll I Do," performed by no shortage of incredible artists over the years, from Nat King Cole to Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, Linda Ronstadt, and Bob Dylan.

She utterly enraptures Elsbeth in the piano-backed performance as they sit together, but as soon as the music stops, the music changes. Elsbeth thinks it may be her favorite song by Irving Berlin, though that catches Ruby off guard, considering she mentioned knowing nothing about cabaret. She insists her love comes from an appreciation of the"great American songbook," but the singer doesn't buy it, calling her guest out as phony and blowing her off.

Elsbeth will quickly learn how difficult a presence Ruby Lane can be, one capable of killing on and potentially off the stage, and one as eccentric as she is talented. LuPone is the perfect pick for such a towering force of nature, often regarded as one of the greatest and most influential modern Broadway performers, with three Tony awards to her name.

However, she's also proven herself as a favorite on-screen, shining especially bright of late as Lilia Calderu in the MCU series Agatha All Along. A season finale demands extra star power, though, so Elsbeth also brought in Shrinking Emmy nominee Michael Urie to play the enthusiastic philanthropist with some financial red flags, Monty Blakemont III. BThe strategist who works best alone but shows up when it matters most. CThe one who funds it, equips it, and occasionally takes over the whole operation. DI don't do teams. I'm more effective operating solo, on my terms.

EThe heavy hitter — I crash in, draw fire, and turn the tide of battle. FThe leader — I earn trust, build the plan, and make sure no one gets left behind.

NEXT QUESTION → QUESTION 7 / 10MORAL CODE 07 Where do you draw the line between justice and revenge? The answer defines what kind of hero you really are. AClearly — I don't kill, and I wrestle with that line constantly. BI try to hold the line, but I've come terrifyingly close to crossing it.

CPractically — I do what's necessary to protect people, including hard calls. DI crossed that line long ago. What I do is justice — the system just won't admit it. EIn battle, victory is justice.

Mercy is earned — not automatic. FFirmly. The moment we abandon our principles, we become what we fight against.

NEXT QUESTION → QUESTION 8 / 10EVERYDAY LIFE 08 When you're not saving the world, what does life look like? The person behind the mask is always the more interesting story. ATrying to juggle school, a part-time job, and not failing my friends. BWorking as a lawyer by day, fighting for justice in court and on the streets.
