The New England Patriots are officially moving in a new direction. Head coach Jerod Mayo spoke to reporters today to inform the media that the team is naming rookie quarterback Drake Maye as the starter moving forward.'Going forward, I think now, Drake gives us the best chance to win now and going forward. He's been getting better single week, as I said before. At the end of training camp, he was trending at a very high rate, and that has continued through the early part of the season.
Mayo is now throwing Maye into this same situation.The Patriots are currently 1-4 and are facing a tall task to not only compete in the AFC East but with the rest of the AFC for a playoff spot. Maye can now help a struggling offensive attack.Maye has a strong arm, which was proven throughout his drafting process and through training camp with the Patriots. He can also scramble to pick up yards on the ground.
