Tom Brady defends his longtime coach, blasting the voting process and saying Belichick is the only coach he’d trust for one season, one Super Bowl.
In an appearance on ESPN Seattle’s “Rock and Salk” morning show, Brady revealed his feelings behind the results of the vote. “I don’t understand it. I was with him everyday. If he’s not a first-ballot Hall of Famer, there’s really no coach that should be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, which is completely ridiculous becaues people deserve it,”“He’s incredible.
There’s no coach that I’d rather play for. If I’m picking one coach to go out there and win a Super Bowl, give me one season, I’m taking Bill Belichick. The Brady and Belichick era with the Patriots is widely regarded as the greatest dynasty in NFL history, spanning 20 seasons from 2000 to 2019. Their partnership transformed New England from a struggling franchise into a powerhouse, yielding six Super Bowl championships in nine appearances. Together, they achieved a league-record 219 regular-season wins, 17 AFC East titles, and the only undefeated 16-game regular season in NFL history . While their time together was defined by winning, it was also marked by a complex relationship that grew increasingly strained toward the end. Despite the friction that eventually led to Brady’s departure for Tampa Bay in 2020, both men have since spoken of their mutual respect.
