Patients and caregivers were evacuated after a fire sparked at the Intermountain Utah Valley Hospital.
Officials with the Provo Police Department reported that the fire alarm sounded just before 6:30 a.m. MST Saturday.Responding officers and fire personnel worked to evacuate patients and staff from the Women and Children's floor.
Provo police stated that the fire was extinguished and that the sprinklers and fire suppression system worked as it should .By 8:45 a.m., officer said that investigators were on scene and that hospital leaders were assessing damage while working with patients and families who were evacuated from the affected area.
