Patient’s ‘unsettling’ dental experience goes viral after hygienist spouts bizarre political conspiracy theories during cleaning

Ms Danvers, who is from Oregon, described the incident as “crazy” and shared her email to the clinic outlining her experience with the hygienist.“While she was cleaning my teeth she began to explain political conspiracies as fact,” she wrote in the email. In a formal email response from the office, the clinic said the practice did not “hold this information to be true or appropriate to be discussed in the office”.The response also stated the hygienist was a “temporary” staffer helping until their permanent hygienist was back in the office.

Ms Danvers said she decided to share the experience on her social media as she believed “spouting your political beliefs and conspiracies in a professional environment out of NOWHERE is weirdo behavior”.Many users commended the clinic and the dentist for their response to the complaint.Another wrote: “Very professional response & I hope their follow-up is a discussion with her about what is appropriate — and not — to be discussed with patients.
