Patel slams Government 'information vacuum' as parents left in dark over school closures

She said: “There’s an information vacuum. This is about pupils and parents – this will be a moment of great anxiety for them and they want to know whether their schools are going to be open on Monday. “The fundamental question is why has Government left it until now, three days before the start of term to actually pick this up?

“This is about long-term investment in the physical buildings of our schools, but also actually the education of our children. So I think quite frankly, all roads point back to the central Government.”
