Anna Davis, the 2022 Augusta National Women's Amateur winner, missed the cut by one shot after a penalty assessed late in Round 2.

For the second consecutive year, Anna Davis is going home early from the Augusta National Women’s Amateur following a penalty.

Davis, the 2022 winner, was assessed a one-shot penalty Thursday for slow play during the second round at Champions Retreat Golf Club. The penalty, assessed on the 17th hole, gave her a two-day total of 70-78–148, one shot outside the cut line. “Her group, which included Lottie Woad and Maria Jose Marin, was notified that they were out of position multiple times during their second round. While being timed, Davis received her first bad time after playing her second stroke on hole No. 5 and received her second bad time following her second stroke on hole No. 17. She was subsequently assessed a one-stroke penalty, which was applied on hole No. 17,” read a statement from the tournament committee.

The cut Thursday fell at 3 over par after a blustery second round , with 35 players advancing to Saturday’s final round at Augusta National Golf Club. All players are invited to play a practice round at Augusta National on Friday.TV Times: How to Watch the Valspar Championship, LPGA in California
