Emergency work is taking place to repair damaged overhead wires on the tram network
Commuters around Nottingham continue to face disruption as tram cancellations and bus diversions are not set to be resolved until the end of the week. Over the last seven days, trams have been brought to a halt on several occasions, causing severe disruption to passengers.
Repairs, which started at 3pm on Tuesday continue to be carried out at the incident which took place in Station Street, Beeston but aren’t set to be completed until 7am on Friday. To intensify the frustration for tram passengers, all services were brought to a brief halt on Wednesday morning due to a separate ‘technical issue.”Dr Zainab Adigun, 29, who commutes to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Lenton, said: “It’s not had an effect on me just yet, but I know it’s impacted a lot of people.
Nottingham City Transport Indigo line buses, going to QMC, which normally run through Beeston, have been diverted around the stop since the tram crash with passengers arriving throughout the day and waiting for buses that will not show. A factor expressed by many is the ‘lack of communication’ from impacted lines to inform them of where to go and what is happening.
“I always get the bus into Beeston and then use the tram to Market Square, but now I’m waiting here not knowing when buses are going to turn up.”
