Police in Connecticut are investigating after a person in a truck allegedly threatened to poison children walking by.
The Granby Police Department said on Facebook earlier this month that officers originally received a call on Oct. 6 about a group of children confronted by several people in a truck. According to the kids, the truck stopped near them in the Cumberland Farms parking lot and a passenger told them to get inside the vehicle or they would be poisoned.
"Based on the ongoing investigation thus far, it is unclear if the statement made to the youths was with ill-intent, or if it was a distasteful act to frighten them," police said. Police said no one was harmed after the incident and they are looking to identify the people inside the truck with the public's assistance.
The passenger is thought to be in his late 20s or 30s with either a dark beard or Goatee, and wearing a black baseball cap backwards. Surveillance video from a business nearby captured photos of the truck that matched eyewitness accounts of the incident. The truck was described as a gray Ford F-150 with unknown marker plates.
