A day before the city formally celebrates its 450th anniversary, the Pasig local government hosted a civic parade on Saturday morning, July 1. | ManilaBulletin
One by one, the participants of the parade, led by Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Vice Mayor Robert "Dodot" Jaworski Jr, Rep. Roman Romulo, and the 11th City Council, carried ribbons and balloons along with tarpaulins introducing their office and organization.Mutya ng Pasig Grand Winner Erika Ballon and first runner-up Shekainah Tamayo also graced the civic parade.
Accompanied by the Pasig City Band, dancing majorettes and color guards, the groups marched from the Sta. Clara de Montefalco Parish, through Rotonda at Barangay Kapasigan, until they reached the Pasig City Hall Quadrangle where the host eagerly introduced the groups to the city officials.Among the government departments included in the parade were the Office of the City Mayor , Office of the Vice Mayor , Office of Rep.
Representing the local education unit were the Special Children's Education Institute , Pasig City Girls Scout Council, Pasig City Science High School , Pasig City Science High School, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig , Barangay Computer Literacy Program , Pasig City Institute of Science and Technology , Youth Development Council , the Pasig City Library, and other public schools in the city.
Barangay women's organizations, homeowners associations , and religious groups also joined the parade.will be held at the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral at 6 a.m., as well as the Thanksgiving Night or "Gabi ng Pasasalamat" concert from 5 p.m. onwards on Sunday, July 2 for "Araw ng Pasig."
