At a welcome back event for teachers and staff last month, Superintendent Elizabeth Blanco said many families rely on the district for food security.near or on campuses. In addition, the following protocols were put in place: secure entry on campuses that are non-public spaces with limited and supervised entry points, communication with families, staff volunteers to escort students, donate and deliver groceries to families in need and permitting parents to wait on campus. The attendance rate includes 23 school sites, traditional and continuation, but does not include the Center for Independent Study, PALs, Home Hospital and children centers. Official enrollment numbers won’t be available until later this fall, the district has said. Enrollment in CIS is 183 students down from 199 students enrolled at the same time last school year.
