KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 — The Perikatan Nasional coalition is 97 per cent done with negotiations for the upcoming six state elections among its component parties, according to PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
The Terengganu menteri besar added that the coalition only had five to six seats from the 245 seats they plan to contest in Kelantan, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kedah and Penang, news portal“As the elections have not arrived yet, there is still time for us to resolve it,” he was quoted as saying at a news conference in Kuala Terengganu yesterday.
Ahmad Samsuri was also reported saying that his party and PN partner Bersatu are still discussing one remaining seat from the 32 seats total in Terengganu.It is not clear where the discussion will take place and what time it will start.The six states are due for elections this year as their five-year term expires, starting with Selangor on June 25 and ending with Penang on August 2 if their state assemblies are not dissolved earlier.
