PAS has defended Election Commission chief Azhar Harun and other commissioners, who are facing calls to resign.
The Islamist party's secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said the Federal Constitution does not require the EC chief and commissioners to quit simply because of a change in government."PAS views that the EC under Azhar's leadership has done their jobs in conducting elections, especially by-elections, efficiently, professionally, and without bias," he said in a statement.
Previously, former EC deputy chief Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said that Azhar and the other EC commissioners should resign as they were pro-Pakatan Harapan activists in the past.
