Parts of Pierce and King counties are seeing snow Monday night ahead of freezing temperatures across the area into Tuesday morning.
A Wind Advisory remains in effect for Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan counties into Tuesday as well as at the north coast. Winds have been consistently gusting over 50 mph in Bellingham and those winds will continue to be stout into tonight as cold and dry air pushes south out of the Fraser Valley past Bellingham and into the rest of the region. Wind chills will be in the teens around Whatcom County tonight.
Meanwhile, as the precipitation moves out and clouds scatter a bit, we’re on the way to a very cold morning with morning low temperatures in the 20s almost areawide with the exception being at the south coast where morning lows will be in the low 30s. Any tender plants or any other vegetation that has begun to emerge in the recent calm weather will need to be protected as Tuesday morning isn’t the coldest morning of this spell.
