People walk on Pier 7 with the Transamerica Pyramid in the background in San Francisco on Nov. 6, 2022.experienced subfreezing temperatures over the weekend following a frost advisory that ended on Monday morning, but warmer weather is on the horizon.
Overnight lows at the Napa County Airport and the Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport in Santa Rosa reached 32 and 30 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively. In the East Bay, temperatures reached as low as 33 degrees in Livermore and 35 in Concord and Redwood City, and downtown San Francisco hit 45 degrees, Sean Miller, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, told SFGATE.
“It was mostly focused to these isolated, cooler spots in the interior valleys… It’s the kind of thing that happens when we get good, clear nights with radiational cooling,” Miller said, referring to the process that occurs when heat escapes from the Earth’s surface into the atmosphere as the sun goes down, resulting in rapidly decreasing temperatures. “A few spots here and there get a little chillier even though most places are a bit warmer. It’s fairly typical for this time of year.
It's a chilly start to your workweek with temperatures in the 30s and 40s. A few of the region's coldest interior locations are currently sub-freezing as of 5 AM PST.
