Parkland to consolidate DISD-based health centers into four main clinics

At least six sites will close Friday and patients will be directed to other nearby locations. As part of the move, the clinics will be open five days a week, an expansion from current hours.

The consolidated sites, all at Dallas ISD schools, will be open five days a week, compared to the current centers, which are open on average one to three days a week. Several centers will close Friday, and patients receiving care at those sites will be transferred to nearby clinics. “When we were talking to our staff and our patients, there was a need for more consistent hours of operation identified with our patients to really create a true medical home,” she said. “Kids get sick all the time, and we had clinics that were open one, two or three days a week. That really wasn’t the best for our patients in the community.”

The Red Bird Youth and Family Center will transfer to the Red Bird Health Center, 3560 W. Camp Wisdom Road, Suite 100, in Dallas.
