Karen Garthwait, public affairs specialist for NPS in southeast Utah, said, "When it comes to things like flying a drone, or walking your dog or scratching your name on the rock, it might be fun in the moment for the individual, but National Parks are for all of us." She added that rules do vary in the different parks, so it's important to familiarize yourself with them before visiting.that the "use of remote-controlled equipment within Bryce Canyon National Park is prohibited by law."

“The regulations about drones are pretty consistent," Garthwait said. "The reason has to do with the impact those drones can have. They can disturb wildlife; they can disturb visitors. They could break or fall down.”
