Parker cruises to 49-6 win over region rival Jackson-Olin.
Parker quarterback Malik Muhammad threw three touchdowns and his defense allowed less than 100 yards as the Class 6A fourth-ranked Thundering Herd cruised to a 49-6 win over rival Jackson-Olin on Thursday in a Region 5 showdown.
Jackson-Olin failed to convert for a third straight possession and the Thundering Herd expanded its lead to 14-0 on a 4-yard touchdown run from Brundidge, capping a 7-play, 58-yard drive. Parker forced a fourth straight three-and-out of the Jackson-Olin offense and padded its lead on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Muhammad to Kentrell Davis.
Jackson-Olin prevented a shutout on its first possession of the second half, driving 50 yards in five plays and capping the drive with a 7-yard touchdown pass from Davis to Ty’kee Thomas, but failed to convert a 2-point conversion for a 28-6 deficit early in the third quarter.
