Discussions about whether and where to relocate the Park Ridge Farmers Market for future seasons are continuing, with a meeting scheduled for Nov. 30 to discuss the question in earnest.
The Park Ridge Farmers' Market had corn, squash, apples, pumpkins and more on sale in October 2022.
City research into possible changes to the market have shown that visitors want more seating and shade to be able to “hang out” at the market as well as shop for produce and other goods, Awsumb said. He said Hodges Park would be a good fit because of its trees and availability of benches. One was Catherine Schechtel, who runs a nail salon called Cathie’s Escapes within deVine Hair Salon. She said her business is already interrupted by other seasonal events like Vine Street Barbecue Fest and Taste of Park Ridge.
