Park Forest police investigate weekend shooting that left 23-year-old man dead.

Park Forest police say they are investigating the shooting death of a 23-year-old Matteson man found slumped behind the wheel of a car early Sunday.

Police said officers were sent to the 3400 block of Western Avenue for a well-being check and found the man in a vehicle parked in a residential parking lot. Police said the Matteson resident was dead when officers responded, and an initial investigation showed the shooting had taken place some hours earlier.Park Forest police say they are being aided in the investigation by the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, and ask anyone with information to call 708-748-1309.
