The Park Fire continues to burn steadily as it reaches 401,740 acres at 34% containment, according to Cal Fire Monday morning.

In their morning update, Cal Fire said the main concern Sunday is any leftover thunderstorms but those are expected to dissipate after sunset. The perimeter of the fire is still burning very receptive fuel beds, officials said, and crews continue to be as aggressive as possible in areas where they can to continue getting control of the fire.The hot and dry weather this weekend caused the fire to be extremely active at times.
In their latest update, Cal Fire said 640 structures have been destroyed in the Park Fire, with another 52 structures damaged.Cal Fire said the western and southern portion of the fire is now considered in "patrol status" with good line construction and mop up. Moving to the northern part of the fire, Cal Fire said their resources continue to be hindered by difficult terrain and heavier fuels. They said it's going to be a long, slow process to achieve their goals and objectives in this area.
