Hall let out a thrilled whoop upon completing the run, then buried his head in the crash pads in disbelief. “You want to win a gold medal, but part of the love of this whole thing is just getting to do whatever the hell you want to do out there as much as trying to win 100%,” Hall said. “I mean, that’s why we all ski is because of the freedom and the creativity we’re allowed.
Hall, 23, entered the event as a formidable competitor with a No. 2 World Cup ranking in both slopestyle and big air.
