According to a new report from THR, Park’s next film — I Can’t Help It — is set to begin production on Saturday. The movie will mark his 12th feature film and his latest since 2022’s Decision to Leave. For Park, it’ll also be his next project since he co-directed the HBO miniseries The Sympathizer, which recently wrapped up and starred Robert Downey Jr.Based on the 1996 Donald Westlake novel The Ax, I Can’t Help It will follow the story of a man named Man-soo who is laid off from his job.
Outside of The Sympathizer and Decision to Leave, Park is considered one of the greatest South Korean filmmakers of all time.
