Two men were arrested in connection to the fiery collision that killed all but one passenger in a family’s SUV, according to police.Grand Prairie police suspect street racing caused a fiery car collision that killed four family members Saturday.A family of five was traveling north on South Belt Line Road around 8:15 p.m. Saturday.
NBC5 reported that the five passengers were members of the Rosales family. Parents Jessie and Lorena Rosales, Stephanie, 13, and Angel, 6, died in the crash, the station reported. The family’s 16-year-old son remains in the hospital, according to the station.The identities of the victims have not been released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Mesa was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. He remained there under police custody as of late Sunday. Police suspect Mesa was racing Anthony Morales, 22, who was driving a white Dodge Charger Daytona that fled the scene after the crash, according to the statement.Mesa faces four counts of racing on a highway and causing death, four counts of manslaughter, one count of racing on a highway and causing serious bodily injury and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said.Police arrested Morales Sunday night.
