Parents near Silver Crest Elementary in Herriman are frustrated with the city's temporary solution for a school crossing, calling it unsafe and demanding immediate action for a permanent fix. The current configuration forces students to walk a longer route across busy streets, raising safety concerns.

Parents near Silver Crest Elementary in Herriman have tired of a "band-aid" approach to a school crossing configuration they call unsafe and are urging city officials to step quickly toward a permanent fix.

"You're making them walk a longer way home,” said dad Val Timothy, who called the configuration dangerous. “If there were a signal light, they could just cross over."
