Amanda Schools and Tyler Sullivan face multiple charges, including aggravated manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child, after their 2-year-old son was found dead with drugs in his system.
The mother and stepfather of a 2-year-old Woodbury boy have been charged after the toddler was found with drugs in his system when he died in June.
Amanda Schools, 35, and Tyler Sullivan, 28, face charges of aggravated manslaughter, reckless manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child and drug possession, Woodbury police said. The toddler had bruises on his body and was in cardiac arrest when Woodbury police were called to the 400 block of Deptford Avenue shortly before 11:30 p.m. on June 3, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by police in support of the charges.
The child, identified as Ashton in an online fundraiser, was brought to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators found methamphetamine on a nightstand next to a crib in a bedroom shared by Schools and Sullivan, the complaint said.The boy had bruises and cuts on his head and back when emergency workers arrived as well, according to court papers.Schools was a mother of five, according to a GoFundMe.com established on her behalf after her son’s death.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
