As one of CBS' most consistent franchises, the decision was made earlier this year to renew the mothership series for its 24th season and lock up both spin-offs, NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney, for Season 3 and Season 4, respectively. Fan-favorites have come and gone over the years, and other off-shoots, like NCIS: Los Angeles, have come and gone, but the series is built to last and continue evolving to keep audiences satisfied.
One particularly beloved character, LL COOL J's agent Sam Hanna, is even set to rejoin the family in a more permanent capacity with the premiere of the new NCIS: New York this fall. Not everything endures in the world of NCIS, though. Despite strong critical reception and a strong desire from fans to see more of the titular couple, the Paramount+ spin-off NCIS: Tony & Ziva was cancelled last year after just one season.
The series finally reunited Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo on-screen to provide some closure to the duo after Ziva left for Paris to be with Tony and her child, Tali, following her final mission with the NCIS. Although it saw them rekindle their spark while on the run from Europe, trying to figure out who was behind the attack on Tony's security company, there was hope for more adventures with the duo and their new friends on streaming.
Despite a spirited fan campaign, including a billboard in support of the Tiva show, Season 1 is the final chapter, but there's now a slight silver lining for those wanting more. A July 14 release date has been announced for the official DVD of Tony & Ziva, and pre-orders are open now.
It'll include all ten episodes of the duo's run as"Bonnie and Clyde with better snacks," and, likely, some special features that'll dive into the secrets behind the unconventional happily-ever-after of their story and the history of the two characters. Exact details about what'll be featured within have yet to be revealed, but it's a chance to relive the adventure and add it to your shelf at last.
