Paramount+ has cancelled two of its originals, despite teasing season 2 stories, as the streamer continues to cull its established shows.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Paramount+ has cancelled two of its originals, Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction, despite teasing season 2 stories. The two dramas were headlined by impressive leads, with Kiefer Sutherland headlining Rabbit Hole and Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan starring in Fatal Attraction. Rabbit Hole followed a man thrown into a propulsive conspiracy with many twists and turns.
TVLine has now confirmed that Fatal Attraction and Rabbit Hole have been cancelled by Paramount+, with each only airing one season. A representative for Paramount+ did not mention a reason for the cancellation, simply thanking the cast and crew for their work. Rabbit Hole season 1 concluded with the tease that there was an even bigger villain whom Sutherland's character had yet to uncover.
Which Paramount+ Shows Have Yet To Be Renewed? In terms of scripted originals based in the U.S. that have yet to be renewed, the two remaining Paramount+ originals are the supernatural thriller Wolf Pack, which stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Taylor Sheridan's Special Ops: Lionness. The latter is likely to be renewed, having made a splash upon its debut.
Paramount+ made headlines in June when it announced plans to cancel and remove four shows: Star Trek: Prodigy, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, The Game, and Queen of the Universe. It should be noted that, unlike those shows, Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction will remain on the platform. But they join the iCarly in the ranks of recent Parramount+ cancellations.
When asked about the possibility of Rabbit Hole season 2, Sutherland said in an interview that he hopes to return. But the veteran television star candidly talks about how odd it is "to not have a sense of where they stand with it," mentioning the lack of transparency regarding specific streaming numbers. While it's likely that the shows did not perform as Paramount+ hoped, details are not available and add to an overall sense of uncertainty.
