National Paralympian shuttler, Cheah Liek Hou, is bringing back Malaysia’s first gold medal after winning the men’s SU5 singles final at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games last night .
The 36-year-old para-athlete defeated Indonesia’s badminton player, Suryo Nugroho, in straight sets with 21-13 and 21-15 scores at the Porte de La Chapelle Arena. This will be the second time Cheah has won the gold medal as he also did so at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.They wrote, “It took only 45 minutes for Cheah Liek Hou to retain his Gold Medal from Tokyo 2020 in Paris 2024. He won with Straight Set 21-13, 21-15. Good job, Liek Hou, you have made Malaysia proud.
