The popular parade returned after rain postponement, featuring vibrant costumes and puppets created by community groups and artists.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Museum of Art’s popular Parade the Circle event returned Sunday under clear skies, after organizers postponed the original June 14 date because of rain. The 33rd annual parade transformed the Fine Arts Garden at the museum’s south entrance into a vibrant showcase of creativity, as participants in handmade costumes marched around Wade Lagoon.

This year’s celebration featured the theme “Magical Allure: A Vibrant Celebration of the Snowy Owl,” created by lead artist Héctor Castellanos Lara, who is working on the parade for his third consecutive year. The concept draws inspiration from the mystical symbolism of the snowy owl, paying tribute to transformation, wisdom and spiritual guidance. Spectators were treated to a colorful display of creative costumes, giant puppets and handmade masks crafted by artists, families, schools and community groups in what has become one of the museum’s most distinctive annual events.
