The boutique’s new location, now directly across from the Sayville movie theater, is more than just a store - it's a handcrafted experience.Nearly a year after a fire destroyed everything she had worked for, Dominique Maciejka is once again opening the doors to her beloved vintage store, Paper Doll Vintage Boutique, in the heart of Sayville.
“It was absolutely devastating, the worst thing that ever happened in my life,” said Maciejka, recalling the October fire that turned her lifelong collection of vintage treasures into ashes.The boutique’s new location, now directly across from the Sayville movie theater, is more than just a store - it's a handcrafted experience. Designer and builder Ricky Saetta, also known as Ricky TeeVee, stepped in to help rebuild from the ground up. “Once the shop burned down, I was like, ‘Let’s do it. Whatever location you get, we will rebuild it,’” said Saetta. Saetta designed all the store’s custom pieces, aiming to create what he calls an immersive experience.From custom floors to wallpaper, the new boutique features a distinct art deco vibe. Inside, shoppers will find a treasure trove of vintage clothing, décor and accessories spanning the 1950s through the 2000s. Now, with the grand reopening set for this Saturday, Paper Doll Vintage Boutique stands as a testament to community, creativity and second chances.
