KUALA LUMPUR: Controversial blogger Papagomo has been arrested by police following the conclusion of the second day of proceedings in his trial over allegedly seditious remarks linking the government to pro-Israel and Western sentiments at the Sessions Court here on Friday . Lawyer Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali, representing Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, also known as Papagomo, told Malay language daily Sinar Harian that his client was detained outside the court by two police officers from Bukit Aman."There has been a police report filed against him under the Sedition Act 1948," Sinar Harian reported the lawyer as saying in a media statement.On Thursday and Friday, the former Umno Youth exco member attended court for his ongoing trial.
On Jan 8, Wan Muhammad Azri, 41, pleaded not guilty to the charge of making seditious remarks linking the government to being pro-Israel and pro-Western on Facebook.
